Can you re-use my existing tile?
Usually, yes. On an underlayment replacement we lift and stack the tile, rebuild the waterproofing below it, and re-set the same tile — replacing only pieces that are cracked or broken.
How long does an underlayment replacement take?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof and on what we find in the deck. We give you a schedule in the written scope before work starts and tell you immediately if anything changes.
Do I need to move out during the work?
No. It is loud and there is activity on the roof, but you can stay in the house. We keep driveways and walkways clear and clean the site daily.
What happens if you find damage under the tile?
We photograph it, show you, and price the correction before we proceed. Rotten sheathing, bad fastening and original construction deficiencies get corrected while the roof is open — that is the whole point of doing it properly.
